ABBASID: AE cast fals (1.40g), NM, ND, A-334E-var, cf. Zeno-150639, kalima // legend bism Allah mimma amara bihi al-amir around and the name in the center, called Hamza on Zeno but in our opinion either Humayd or Hamid (both written identically in Arabic), clear on lot 1936 sold in our Auction 51, crude VF, RR. In our opinion, this type is Umayyad, not Abbasid, similar to other cast fulus dated in the period of about AH90 to AH110, after which proper struck techniques were used of almost all fulus from the eastern mints. The assignment to Kharashkath mint is questionable.
