ABBASID: Amir Nusayr, late 9th century, AE fals (2.18g), Tarabulus, ND, A-294, inscribed al-amir nusayr tarabulus on one side, al-amir nusayr … on the other, with the last word uncertain, some weakness, as usual, Very Fine, RRR. The bottom word on the 2nd side is likely al-trablusi ("from Tripoli"), as is found after the name of other local governors in the late 9th century, e.g., Bakkar (specimens at Tübingen). The mint is at Tripoli in Lebanon, not Libya.
