ABBASID: al-Mu'tamid, 870-892, AR dirham (3.00g), al-Ma'din, AH267, A-240.10, citing only the caliph al-Mu'tamid, with a few spots of weakness but the mint & date fully legible; only the 2nd known example of this mint for al-Mu'tamid (the other dated AH273), F-VF, RRR. The mint name means "the mine" or "the market", in this case located somewhere around Andaraba or Banjhir. The same entered Spanish, spelled Almaden, which became the name of a mining town near San Jose, California.
