ABBASID: al-Mu'tazz, 866-869, AV dinar (3.93g), al-Shash, AH253, A-235.1, perfectly centered, evenly worn, without any weakness whatsoever, rarely found this nice, lovely Very Fine, S. Al-Shash was not under direct Abbasid control, but was under the Samanid ruler Nasr I (864-892), who struck copper coins in his own name at al-Shash (near Tashkent) AH253-255. His own name never appeared on silver & gold coinage.
