ABBASID: al-Muqtadir, 908-932, AR dirham (2.17g), Tarsus, AH319, A-246.2, probably the finest known example of the rare mint of Tarsus, About Uncirculated, RR. Tarsus was an important and relatively common mint in Roman imperial times, but was a minor mint, always very rare, during the 'Abbasid and Ikhshidid periods. The silver dirhams and gold dinars always bear the mint name, whereas most copper folus lack the name.
