ABBASID: al-Muttaqi, 940-944, AV dinar (4.09g), Misr, AH329, A-256E, Bernardi-306De, Khedivial-725, extremely rare variety without the heir Abu Mansur, pierced, attractive VF, RRR, ex Gamal Amer Collection, ex Islamic Coin Auction 22, Lot 3281. Bernardi knew of only two examples of this type, one dated AH329, the other dated 330. Starting later in 330, coins of Misr bear the name of the Ikhshidid king Muhammad b. Tughj, who had technically ruled since 323, but struck coins only in the name of the Abbasid caliph until some point in 330.
