ABBASID: temp. al Mu'tasim, 833-842, lead seal (4.84g), AH221, A-338Y, legend mimma amara bihi al-a- / -mir malik bin tûq / 'ala yadaya harun bin ... / kurat arzan sana' / (ihd)a 'ashrin wa mi('a), "ordered by the Amir Malik b. Tawq through his subordinate Harun b. (...) in the county of Arzan in the year two hundred twenty-one"; Arzan was located in the Jazira, a short distance north-east of Mardin, VF, RRR. According to the consignor, "Malik bin Tawq was the founder of al-Rahba city at the time of Harun al-Rashid [actually, under al-Ma'mun, AH194-218], then governor of al-Mawsil 214-16, then of Dimashq and Urdunn, under caliph al-Mutawakkil. Died 260AH."
