Richard Accola collection. Although Nadir Shah introduced the gold mohur in Iran in AH1151, the ¼ mohur was not issued until this type at Tabriz in AH1162. Thereafter, the ¼ mohur continued to be struck throughout Iran, especially during the reign of Karim Khan, last issued under Ja'far Khan Zand in AH1205.
