AMIR OF NISHAPUR (?): Muhammad b. Toghanshah, AE fals (4.29g), NM, ND, A-1708D, obverse legend just muhammad bin / toghan, reverse al-mu'ayyid min Allah ("supported by God"); this is only a tentative attribution, though it seems quite reasonable that muhammad is part of the full name of the Amir Sanjar b. Toghanshah (A-1708D), who ruled in Nishapur AH581-583 (1185-1187 AD), bold VF-XF, RRR. Cf. our auction 47, lot 471, with his full name "toghanshah" on the obverse but struck from the same reverse die!
