WARRING STATES: State of Chu, 400-200 BC, LOT of 22 AE ant nose money, most H-1.4 with a few H-1.6, average weight 2.4g (the heaviest 4.27g); most Fine to VF with reasonably clear details; retail value $900, lot of 22 pieces, ex Ilse & Rolf Braun Collection. Rolf (1937-2016) and Ilse Braun were the founder and the secretary of the European Collectors of Primitive Money (EUCOPRIMO), a well-known organization in the field of ethnographic currency. Based in Germany, the group meets twice a year and issues a yearly magazine. Rolf and Ilse also co-authored Opium-Gewichte, one of the standard references on Burmese opium weights.
