MAURYAN: Punchmarked, 3rd/2nd century BC, AR karshapana (3.24g), CH-572, series VIb, sun, 6-arm symbol, hill, footprint in a square, and deity on pedestal // 4 taurines around circular center; lovely strike with no weakness, choice VF, RR, ex Wilfried Pieper Collection. According to the consignor, "This coin shows a depiction of the deity different from what is usually seen. Here the deity is standing on a very high pedestal holding a horseshoe-shaped object in the right and a stick in the left hand! An iconographically very interesting variety!"
