IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
ANTARCTICA: Enderbyland, 1 sovereign, 1990, KM-XPn3, fantasy issue struck in .995 molybdenum, arrowed symbol // enflamed Runic symbol, weakly struck, mintage of only 5 pieces, extremely rare, PCGS graded Specimen 64. Enderbyland is a region of Antarctica between Queen Maud Land and Wilkes Land, claimed by Australia as part of the Australian Antarctic Territory. Enderbyland is named for the whaling company, Samuel Enderby & Sons, which financed the 1831 expedition that discovered it. This type was struck by Fred Zinkann at the Mint Masters private mint, Franklin Park, Illinois, USA. Molybdenum is a silvery-white element usually used as an alloying addition to steels and titanium alloys, although there are applications where the pure metal is used. It has not been used for circulation coins.
