ANTARCTICA: Enderbyland, 1 sovereign, 1990, KM-X1a, fantasy issue struck in aluminum, arrowed symbol // enflamed Runic symbol, mintage of only 250 pieces, rare, PCGS graded Specimen 65. Enderbyland is a region of Antarctica between Queen Maud Land and Wilkes Land, claimed by Australia as part of the Australian Antarctic Territory. Enderbyland is named for the whaling company, Samuel Enderby & Sons, which financed the 1831 expedition that discovered it. This type was struck by Fred Zinkann at the Mint Masters private mint, Franklin Park, Illinois, USA.
