ARAB-BYZANTINE: AE fals, Tabariya, A-3512, Group Lot: Three Standing Figures, narrow and relatively thick flans, many minor varieties (some rare), mostly good to fine, some worse, with the mint name normally in both Greek & Arabic (26 pieces), from an American collection. The Three Standing Figures type was derived from the late issues of Heraclius, who is portrayed together with his son Heraclius Constanine and the Empress Martina. On the Arab-Byzantine coins, the three characters tend to be identically engraved, although the central figure may be taller. A nice research group.
