ARAB-BYZANTINE: Three Standing Figures, ca. 685-700, AE fals (2.87g), Baysan, A-3512R, INJ-13, type A19, capital M on reverse, with inscription fals al-haqq bi-baysan ("legal fals of Baysan"), lovely strike, Very Fine, RRR, from an American collection. The three standing figures, derived from the later issues of Heraclius, each hold the globus cruciger and wear crowns with the cross. The attribution was only confirmed in 1999, published in INJ-13. Foss considers this type to be a transitional issue of 'Abd al-Malik struck during his early years, i.e., circa 685-688, and describes it as a "rare type".
