ARAB-BYZANTINE: Two Standing Figures, ca. 636-645, AE fals (5.18g), NEA (Neapolis), regnal year "25", A-3502N, MIB-X24, two standing figures in military dress, in the style of Heraclius, letter K between // capital M, NEA below, ANNO to left, XX5 right, letter within the capital M; the year 25 corresponds to 634/635 AD, just at the start of the Arab invasions, and may have been struck for several years without change of regnal year, lovely VF, RR, ex Jacob Yablok Collection. The type is derived from the follis of Heraclius & his son Heraclius Constantine, struck 630-640, his regnal years 20-30 (Sear-810), and this is certainly one of the nicest examples of this type, originally sold in our Auction 20, lot 133.
