ARAKAN: Bodawpaya, 1784-1819, AR tanka (9.91g), KM-28.1, Mitch-410, scarce variety with cord borders, Choice VF, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection. After conquering Arakan in 1784, the Burmese king Bodawpaya issued tankas in traditional Arakanese style for his new province. They are dated to the year of his conquest and bear the legend "Amarapura, kingdom of the lord of many white elephants".
