AUSTRALIA: AE penny token, ND (1865), KM-Tn52.1, Andrews-99, R-107, Gray-60, E. F. Dease, Launceston, Tasmania, struck by W.J. Taylor, London, a lovely lustrous example! PCGS graded MS63 BN. William Joseph Taylor was born in Birmingham in 1802. By the 1840s Taylor was established as a medallist and dealer. During his career he produced a considerable number of coins and tokens, mainly for export.
