AUSTRIA: SALZBURG: AR ½ thaler, 1928, Macho-286, private medallic issue commemorating the 300th anniversary of the Salzburg Cathedral's consecration, obverse based on the model of the domweihtaler of 1628 with two monastery saints with cathedral building // reverse very loosely based on the thaler of 1612 with two monastery saints around the coat of arms of Markus Sittich von Hohenems, PCGS graded Specimen 66. Struck by local jeweler, Anton Koppenwallner with his initials AK and hallmarks on reverse.Incorrectly described as a full thaler on the PCGS label. This piece is lower weight than the full thaler, also featured in this auction.
