BACTRIA: Diodotos I Soter, ca. 255-235 BC, AR hemidrachm (2.01g), Bop-4A, Mitch-69a, in the name of Antiochos II of the Seleukid Kingdom, diademed head right // Zeus Bremetes advancing left, brandishing aegis and thunderbolt, monogram to inner right, moderate surface roughness, extremely rare denomination for this ruler, F-VF. This is the first Diodotid hemidrachm to appear in a public auction to our knowledge. Mitchiner cites only two examples, both in the British Museum's collection.
