BADEN: Friedrich I, 1856-1907, AE medal, The 1902 Grand Duchy of Baden Jubilee Medal, loop removed, VF. The 1902 Grand Duchy of Baden Jubilee Medal (Regierungsjubiläumsmedaille) was instituted on April 25, 1902, by Grand Duke Friedrich I to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his reign. The award recognized military personnel and citizens who distinguished themselves in public service. The obverse features a left-facing profile bust of the elderly Grand Duke Friedrich I wearing a general's uniform and date 1852-1952. The reverse is centered around a rampant, crowned griffin (the traditional symbol of Baden). The griffin carries a sword and holds a shield featuring the Baden coat of arms. The German text below reads:REGIERUNGSJUBILÄUM S.K.H. DES GROSHERZOGS FRIEDRICH VON BADEN.
