BADEN: Leopold I, 1830-1852, AE kreuzer, 1852, KM-218.2, C-102a, a wonderful lustrous chocolate brown mint state example! PCGS graded MS64 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1852, Baden was recovering from the failed 1848-49 revolutions, with a conservative government reasserting control. Grand Duke Leopold died that year, and his son Frederick began acting as regent. The period was marked by political repression, constitutional rollback, and efforts to prevent further liberal uprisings.
