BARAKZAI: Sher 'Ali, 1863-1879, AV tilla (3.45g), Qandahar, AH1283, A-3164, KM-194, amir sher 'ali in the form of toughra, within a fancy wreath // zarb qandahar within ornate circle, NGC graded MS61, RRRR. An example dated AH1285 is illustrated in the older 19th century KM catalogue, but not on the modest online version; there are no examples on either CoinArchives or Zeno. Qandahar was lost to Sher 'Ali during the year AH1283, taken first by Muhammad Afzal, then later in 1283 by Muhammad A'zam, recovered by Sher Ali later in 1284. Silver Qandahari rupees were struck by Sher Ali during every year 1280-1285 and 1287-1295.
