BARODA: Sayaji Rao II, 1819-1847, AV ¼ mohur (2.08g) (Baroda), AH12xx, Cr-—, in the name of Muhammad Akbar II, second series, with the scimitar pointing horizontally towards the left (as on the rupee type C-38.2), retrograde obverse, normal reverse, mount removed, VF to EF, RRR. The quarter mohurs of Savaji Rao II and Khande Rao were most likely produced principally for jewelery or other decorative purposes. The weight varies from about 1.90g to 3.30g, but they can be called quarter mohurs, though they were almost certainly never intended to circulate at a fixed value.
