BAETES FEC. below // LOODSWEZEN in plaque above Pilotage Building in Antwerp, date 1895 below, JUL BAETES below, a lovely mint state example! PCGS graded MS63. The Antwerp Pilotage Building is a building in eclectic style built between 1892 and 1895 on the Tavernierkaai, which housed the administrative services of the Pilotage. The architects Hendrik Kennes and Ferdinand Truyman designed it. Until 2016, the building housed the Maritime Inspectorate, the Pilotage Service, and the Fleet and Maritime Scheldt. The following year, the City of Antwerp purchased the building from the Flemish Region for 2.1 million euro.
