Andrew Carnegie was an American tycoon in the steel industry. When he retired in 1901 and sold the company to banker John Pierpont Morgan for $400 million, he was considered the richest man of his time. Among other things, he founded the Carnegie Hero Trust Fund, which honored particularly selfless people.
