BELGIUM: AE medal, The Inter Allied Victory Medal (Médaille de la Victoire / Zegemedaille), with replacement ribbon, AU, ex Joseph E. Lang Collection. The Belgian Inter-Allied Victory Medal is a gilt bronze medal designed by Paul Du Bois and was established on July 15, 1919, It was awarded to Belgian WWI service members, featuring the standard rainbow-colored ribbon. The obverse portrays a winged figure of Victory standing on a globe with arms spread. The reverse has the Belgian Royal Coat of Arms at the center, surrounded by the coats of arms of Allied nations (USA, Japan, Greece, Brazil, Serbia, Portugal, Italy, UK, and France) with the bilingual inscription around the circumference in French and Dutch, LA GRANDE GUERRE POUR LA CIVILISATION / DE GROOTE OORLOG TOT DE BESCHAVING.
