BELGIUM: LIÈGE: Jean-Théodore, of Bavaria, 1744-1763, AE liard, 1751, KM-155, a lovely mint state example with much original mint red! PCGS graded MS63 RB, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. Prince-bishop Jean-Theodore de Bavière (Johann Theodor von Bayern) abused his minting rights, flooding the Principate and the Austrian Netherlands with underweight circulation silver of poor alloys. Minting rights were withdrawn and the only coins produced later on were commemorative gifts to diplomats and high ranking visitors to the Prince-Bishop in small numbers.
