BENGAL PRESIDENCY: AE 2 pice (14.46g), year 37, Stv-7.180, KM-A55. Prid-304, struck at Calcutta for use in Benares, struck from slightly rusted dies, NGC graded PF63 BR, RRR, ex Paul Stevens Collection. Labeled "plain edge restrike" on the slab, but if a restrike, it was likely produced very shortly after the original production 1807-1809, probably before 1820. The regular and proof pieces of this type always have plain edge.
