BENGAL PRESIDENCY: AR rupee (11.05g), Akbarabad (Agra), AH121x year 47, Stv-8.1/2, KM-560, in the name of Shah Alam II, nice strike, some light porosity on obverse, VF to EF, R, ex Paul Stevens Collection. Akbarabad was taken over by the British during the Second Maratha War, on 18 October 1803 (2 Rajab 1218), during Shah Alam's 46th year. Only rupees dated year 47 can securely be assigned to the British period, and 47 was the last year of silver coinage struck at this mint.
