BINDRABAN: AE paisa (7.79g), Bhawan Nagar, AH1211 year 36, KM-5-var, cf. Zeno-56764, in the name of Shah Alam II, clear dates and mint name, fish in central reverse, VF, RRR. Only 2 examples are on CoinArchives, porous pieces sold in our Auction 24, Lots 1800 & 1801. Lot 1799 has the mint name Mu'minabad, dated year 40, stylistically identical to the Bhawan Nagar paise, with the style of the two mints so similar, especially the form of the fish, that the same engraver must have cut the dies more or less simultaneously. Zeno has reassigned these two types to the state of Bharatpur and read this mint as Thawan Nagar for Thoon, but without any secure evidence.
