BRITISH WEST AFRICA: Edward VII, 1901-1910, brass 1/10 penny, ND, KM—, Vice-FT26, struck with two muled obverse dies on a brass planchet (cf. KM-1 in aluminum, KM-3 in copper-nickel), a few small spots of discoloration, apparently unique, NGC graded MS63, ex David Vice Collection. David Vice, in his book The Coinage of British West Africa and St. Helena 1684-1958, states merely that this piece was "struck in brass from two Edward VII obverse dies" and nothing further. We think this is possibly a trial strike or a mint sport.
