BRITISH WEST INDIES:LOT of 5 coins countermarked on French Colonies (Cayenne/Guiana) billon 2 sous of Louis XVI, Trinidad & Tobago AE black dogg (1½ pence) countermark "TB" above annulet (3), Tortola AE black dogg (1½ pence) private merchant token for planter Arthur Hodge (1792-1811), countermark "H" within frame (1), Tortola AE black dogg (1½ pence), countermark "T" (1), average circulated condition, retail value $200, lot of 5 coins. The Spanish Colonial dollar in circulation was subdivided into 72 black doggs, each valued at 1½ pence. Around 1801, the black dogg coins were countermarked on French Guianan 2 sous for circulation in the Islands.
