BURMESE KINGDOMS: Tenasserim-Pegu: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, octagonal cast large tin coin (26.84g), VC-620, cf. Robinson-Plate 13.6, 60mm, knotted dragon (Naga) right with long protruding pointed tongue, with the flower above, extremely rare type without the pedestal below the dragon // 3-line Burmese legend (Robinson legend B4), with Chinese-style square in the center; 3 tiny natural casting defects and some light encrustation (mostly in the margins), Unc, RRR. This type was originally illustrated by Tavernier in his publication in 1678 and may be the earliest of all large tin coins of Tenasserim.
