BURMA: LOT of 11 tokens and amulets, a very interesting group, including Tokens: 4 lead tokens (one cf. Robinson pl. 16-10 with lion // lion, another Robinson pl. 16-12 with stylized Chinese characters, plus two octagonal examples with crab on one side; possibly used for gambling), and two tin-lead tokens (one with horse // uncertain Pallava(?) inscriptions; the other with lion and srivatsa); Amulets: 3 older silver amulets (one 26mm Minemaw Shan tribal imitation of Srikshetra issue, cf. Mahlo-13.4, pierced twice; and two smaller examples of uncertain origin, both with broad conch // srivatsa, imitating Mahlo-63 but in unusual style, not in Mitchiner or Mahlo), plus 2 large likely modern amulets (one 38mm in silvery alloy, lion // vajra inside srivatsa; the other 45mm tin-lead, rising sun motif // spiral); retail value $300, lot of 11 pieces, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection.
