BURMA: Union, AV 1/4 tical, 2005, 18mm Central Bank Issue; elephant hauling a log, with inscription CENTRAL BANK OF MYANMAR, 2005, and "4.082 gm 999.9 Fine Gold" in English // Burmese inscriptions, an attractive lustrous example, PCGS graded MS62, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection. According to a Myanmar Government announcement of December 28, 1990, "The Central Bank of Myanmar will issue Gold Proof coins, beginning Jan. 4, 1991, in denominations of 1 tical, 1/2 tical, and 1/4 tical. The coins will be sold at shops of the Myanma Gems Enterprise, Myanma Jewels House, and Myanma Hotel and Tourism Services hotels, for US dollars."
