BURMESE KINGDOMS: Minemaw, AR amulet (10.15g), ca. 10th century or later, Mahlo app. 24.1, 40mm, derived from issue of Srikshetra (Mahlo Type 13), bhadrapitha // srivatsa with world pillar ("yupa") inside, two celestial symbols on either side, water lines below, holed twice for suspension and plugged, lovely toning, Choice VF, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection. The Minemaw types of the Shan Hilltops occur in many designs, mostly derived from earlier Burmese coins, and vary greatly in size. Nearly all are punched twice, presumably for decorative attachment.
