BYZANTINE EMPIRE: Heraclius, 610-641, AR light weight solidus (= 20 siliquae) (3.56g), cf. Sear-783, three standing figures (Heraclius and his sons Heraclius Constantine and Heraclonus), no legend // VICTORIA AVΓςΔ cross on 3 steps, monogram #21 left, denomination OBXX below; somewhat coarsely engraved obverse, and rather crude OBXX below the reverse; pierced twice, VF, RRR.

The source of this piece is unknown, but somewhere in Europe seems likely. There is a crudely engraved cross on the right figure (Heraclius Constantine) which suggests that it is probably not from the Middle East after the Arab conquest.
