CANADA: Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, AR dollar, 2012, KM-A1451, Maple Leaf Red Impression, Proof. As per the Royal Canadian Mint. "For almost 300 years, the red maple leaf has symbolized Canadian identity and values. Today, Canadians faithfully display this symbol as a pin or badge, distinguishing them wherever they go. Of course, the maple leaf can be found on our national flag, but it has only been there since the last century. During the First World War, future Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson noticed that it appeared on the insignia of all Canadian battalions. Half a century later, the unified flag was adopted."
