CANADA: NOVA SCOTIA: Victoria, 1837-1867, AE 1/2 cent, 1864, KM-7, a wonderful lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS64 BN. Nova Scotia decided to adopt a decimal system of currency in 1861. The half cent have the same diameter as the British farthing and the cent as the half penny. The British North America Act by which Nova Scotia became part of the Dominion of Canada, went into effect on July 1, 1867.
