CANADA: Queen Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, AR 30 dollars, 2022, KM-3244, 50th Anniversary of the Summit Series, contains 2.015 troy ounces of pure silver, with COA and original Royal Canadian Mint case of issue, Proof. Designed by artist Susanna Blunt, the reverse features two hockey players representing Team Canada in the 1972 Canada-U.S.S.R. Summit Series, set against a background of a stylized maple leaf. The initials of Team Canada's coaches and the jersey numbers of each player are engraved around the circle. The circle is bordered by a ring with a background of hockey net mesh. As per the Royal Canadian Mint, "It was a series that culminated in one of the most iconic moments in Canadian history—a 'where were you when...?' moment that is cherished to this day—and those eight games ultimately changed the way hockey was played. Fifty years later, the intensity and excitement of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union (U.S.S.R.) still live on in the collective memory of Canadians, along with the heart, grit and determination demonstrated by members of Team Canada. Their legacy and team spirit are proudly honoured on this 50th anniversary commemorative coin, which features the stylized maple leaf that was the rallying symbol for an entire nation in September 1972."
