CANADA: Victoria, 1837-1901, AE cent, 1858, KM-1, scarce date, medallic alignment, PCGS graded AU55, ex Dr. Robert A. Rosenfeld Collection. The coining process did not begin until the end of 1858 for the new Canadian government large one cent type so only 421,000 cents were minted with the 1858 date. For this reason, this coin is considered one of the key dates in the entire Canadian Queen Victoria large cent series. This example marked 'broken vine' which is different than the recognized 'broken stem' variety.
