CEYLON: Edward VIII, 1936, AV crown (35.54g), "1936", KM-X1c, bust of Edward VIII left / elephant right, struck in 1954 as part of a series issued by Geoffrey Hearn, very faint hairlines, Brilliant Uncirculated. According to KM, only 10 pieces were struck by Geoffrey Hearn. Krause also states that some restrikes were struck, but from information on the internet, it seems that the "restrikes" were the Richard Lobel pieces, same exact design but struck from different dies, easily distinguished by the circle of dots around the obverse & reverse which are not on the Hearn dies. Although it is alleged that Lobel acquired the dies that had once belonged to Hearn, his "restrikes" were clearly struck from a new set of dies, not from the original Hearn dies, whose actual whereabouts remain unknown.
