CEYLON: George III, 1760-1820, AE 1/2 stiver, 1815, KM-80, Prid-92, an attractive nearly mint state example, NGC graded AU58 BN. The stiver was known in Sinhala as a tuttuwa and in Tamil as a tuddu. It was worth 3 Dutch challie (VOC duits), and 4 English challie (1/2 farthings), thus the "half stiver" was of equal value to a British farthing of similar weight and size.
