CEYLON (MEDIEVAL): LOT of 11 copper coins, including the scarce 1/8 kahavanu of Parakrama Bahu I (1153-1186) (6 pcs, average VF or better); and 5 unattributed miscellaneous copper coins; retail value, lot of 11 pieces, ex Solar Collection.

ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM THE CONSIGNOR - SEE IMAGE WITH CIRCLED COINS:
a. The coin in red is the incredibly rare Dharmasokka deva 1/8 kahavanu, incorrectly described as the common Parakrama bahu 1/8 kahavanu. This has never been offered in an auction before and is known from a handful of specimens.
b. The coin in blue is the rare Parakrama Bahu Kahavanu with lion next to king on the obv (other side, not shown in this picture). More coins of this type seem to be lot 4077.
c. The two coins in black are Portuguese Ceylon 1/2 Barazucos and are quite rare.
