CHALUKYAS: Vishnuvardhana, early 7th century, AE round, uncertain alloy (3.54g), lion right, Brahmi legend shri vishamasiddhi // conch between lamps, border of rays; unpublished variety with additional honorific title shri and of very different style than published examples of this ruler, VF-XF, RRR. Vishnuvardhana was viceroy under Pulakeshin II (608-644). This piece was originally sold in our Auction 37, Lot 1013.
