CHEN: Shao Shi, 569-582, AE cash (3.88g), H-13.18, tai huo liu zhu ("large coin six zhu"), issued by Emperor Xuan (Shaoshi) of Chen in 579 AD, lovely quality and patina! Graded 82 by GBCA Grading Company, VF, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection. This coin with the beautiful calligraphy, displayed at the left, is considered to be the "crown jewel " of Southern Dynasty coins. The coin was originally worth ten regular wu zhu coins, but because of popular discontent was revalued to one wu zhu.
