CHINA: AE medal, ND (1945), 24mm x 40mm, Nationalist WWII victory issue, jiang (from personal shop of Chiang Kai-shek) on the obverse, shènglì (victory) on the reverse, WASC (War Area Service Commission) stamped on top edge, modeled after ancient spade coin, ex Shèngbidébao Collection. Given to members of the 1st American Volunteer group (Flying Tigers), the China Air Task Force and the USAAF Fourteenth Air Force (established 5 March 1943 at Kunming) as personal expression of appreciation by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek. Many of these medals were produced by Ah Mong jewelers in Shanghai.
