CHINA: horn necklace, early to mid-20th century, consisting of a 10.5cm-long animal horn with intricately carved patterns, a vertebra, 6 Qing cash coins (Qianlong, Jiaqing, and 4 of Daoguang; 5 of Yunnan mint), two buttons and many small beads, all strung together on a hand-woven cord ending in numerous coarse red tassels, EF, ex Charles Opitz Collection. Deacquisition from the Money Museum of Detroit. Judging from the Manchu mintmarks, this necklace was likely made by one of the many tribes of Yunnan Province.
