DAMAO & BACAIM: João V, 1706-1750, tin 10 bazarucos (18.02g), Damao, ND (1722-26), Gomes-J5.23, see Damiao Peres in 1964, page 49, no. 280, plate XXIII, large crowned shield, solid line around crown, DB below // Portuguese cross within dentilated border, date unclear, Fine to VF, RR. This type, dated 1723 and 1734, was correctly attributed by de Campos in 1902. It appeared later in the Grogan Sale (Schulman 1914), Lot 1347 (ex Gerson da Cunha, Meili) and 1348 (ex Meili).
